RANT: So you want balance... NERF IT.

So...what i have heard for the past few months so far.

The next mod is already so close and people are wondering about the ship changes and such, and ye they keep on bragging about the developers being biased and such. Right...listen to me for a moment before locking this thread.




THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS BALANCE




No...only because your titan got killed by a sabre, you dont ask for it to be nerfed.
Only cause your Sabre was perverated by a titan, you dont nerf it.
If you die in your cruiser to a gunboat, then there is an issue with your own skills, not that the gunboat is better.

Yes, the Rogue GB is overpowered.
Yes, the sabre is fast.
Yes there are krakenwhores.
Yes the SN is strong, yes people use Minirazors although its originally corsair and order tech.


There are no equals.


There is a strongest house, there is a weakest house, there is a strongest VHF, there is a weakest VHF. You dont need to nerf it to have a good rp or make them equal. There will be a looser in the war, there will be a winner, if you take out the unbalance, then you more or less kill the game plot.


Ive seen people complaining that the one or the other ships weapons are so powerful and the powerplant is so large. They do not even know how it is to fight in that ship, they dont know how does it effect the fight.

And why are you all so hyped up about the pvp part if you came here to RP? Pvp is a part of the rp, yes, but if you rp, then you know you will be overpowered by another factions ship, or simply take apart another, weaker enemy.

You know you are more powerful than others, yet weaker against others.




Those of you who especially are yelling about the ongoing war against the Titan and Sabre.
If you are tired about getting your titan killed by the sabre or vise verse, there is a New Character button right there. Make your own sabre/titan. Balance YOUR experience, not the ships.




In the end, this boils down to this line:

BALANCE IS OVERRATED

There is no balance in real world, there shouldn't be here either, am i right? I take my hat off for the Xenos for example who have to stick to a strictly limited shipline and weapons, go against liberty caps every day, but they don't complain. If you are a lone fighter flying into a capspam, you should expect to be killed, you don't ask to nerf the capitals because you do.


So a GB took down your cruiser? Go buy yourself a gunboat then, if you really strive for pvp, noone can actually force you not to.


Now i am calmer...now listen.
People, you don't have to leave disco only for the fact that the peeps are asking to nerf your faction, your ships or your RP. Its just a game, after all, so leaving your friends behind only because the balance team killed your rogue GB stats is a no no.

Sorry guys....this is just too much to keep to oneself. Another one of my good friends on Disco left because of the devteam and i am not going to blame both him, or the team.



All i am saying, is that if you see that that faction has better ships/weapons and is more powerful and you feel that it is unfair to you or you too want such power. You don't need to nerf them, for godssake. You can always make a new character to see yourself how it is to be them. You will be surprised, maybe it is even more hard for them?


The dev team aren't bad, they simply do what people tell them. Asking for the communities opinions is like digging your own grave, not doing so, result in flames. How to avoid that? Don't do anything. People are and will be biased and nothing you do will get their approval, so stop trying.
