Council of the Corsair Elders

Time had passed. The Reyes familia had faded into memory, and a new meeting was called.

Carlos stood from his seat.

"My hermanos, I come to you today with a grave issue concerning a number of foolish pilots, including a cruiser captain."
The rest of the chamber looked up from their drinks.
"Today my irritable smuggler friend, Sean Ashcroft the 2nd, the pilot of my ship the Abundantia, who was given charge after I was told by my familia to give up the trade for the sake of my safety, was shot down outside Tripoli by a number of Corsair vessels, while carrying a cargo hold of gold for the ship-building operation."
The chamber fell silent. Afew individuals gasped.
"Ashcroft had announced his identity and purpose when he entered Gamma, but the captain of a Cruiser; Don Andres demanded that he state it again. Naturally, Mr. Ashcroft was not enthusiastic and said as much.
When he arrived at Tripoli, a number of Corsair vessels opened fire on the Abundantia which was destroyed. The cargo of 4500 tonnes of gold was also obliterated and scattered into space."
A number of the elders shook their heads.
"I make no apologies for the fact that Ashcroft's manner is abrasive. He is by no means a pleasent or respectful individual but nevertheless keeps Tripoli supplied, keeps our merchandise flowing into New York, and keeps the nation in profit.
I have very real fears that he will cut ties with the Corsair nation if no action is taken, and we will lose the benefits from his smuggling talents.

I spoke to the pilots who destroyed my old ship, and they made no apologies for their conduct, constructing some non-sensical lie about Ashcroft working for the Mollys, and later suggesting that I, Elder Carlos Benitez, am a traitor."

More of the chamber gasped, afew sniggered, and furtive whispers began.
Caros slammed his fist down on the table infont of him, and the room fell silent again.

"I provide photographic evidence of the incident for your viewing. I am sad to say Mr. Ashcroft was injured and is recuperating on Tripoli, though due to this betrayal he has fallen into a state of paranoia and I had to post a guard of 4 men outside his room before he would agree to rest.



Ashcroft and I would like to press charges against;

I await the council's judgement on the matter. In the meantime, I shall persiew the individuals for compensation for Ashcroft's cargo and my ship.
