Destiny

The voices so many voices howled through my mind, threatening to rend my sanity in two. I screamed, a solid wedge of pain driving into my temple. Then I could sense Them, the panicking men and women, the doctors and psychologists that thought they could learn to understand me. I could see their life-lights, tiny white pinpricks of fire, contrasting against the empty eternal death of the void.

From my ethereal view point I could see a hurricane of light surrounded me, pouring into me, the pain still torturing me. I writhed and contorted, hoping that I would just die and have an end to the agony, then it ceased.

The pinpricks of light were instantly extinguished and the hurricane of light rolled over then, flattening the guttering light in an instant. Something inside me was directing the energy outward, towards Them. I was like a beacon, an antenna pulling in energy from the *Community* only to unleash it on those around me.

Something changed subtly in my mind, as I tried to harness it, control the power, direct it out to kill, maim, destroy! This was power! Then there was the feeling of flying backwards as the hurricane died to a gentle breeze, my consciousness pulled back into my body.

There was a sudden sense of loneliness and weight as I shuddered, still twitching from the mental overload. A blood vessel in my nose burst, leaking blood down my cheek. Then there was silence as I fell once more.
