i m missing some very basic ideas on which to judge that proposition....
mostly .... :
what exactly IS the order "canon" roleplay? - can we clear that up? - cause without knowing what the order is really supposed to do and how to act - its hard to make judgement about ooRP.
if people act according to this omnious "canon" RP - should / can we influence them to do something else?
how complex has RP to be to be acknoledged as "RP". ( referring to forum stories, ingame chatter, group chatter, PMs, local chatter etc. )
is there really a "problem"? make up your mind... is there REALLY a problem? or is it all much ado about nothing.
finally - the benefits from the reforms outweigh the dangers that come from it? - make up your mind ...
in general.
you are creating a rift. - you are creating an "us" and "them" - that is a difficult and dangerous situation. - instead of dealing with a heterogenous community, - or at least you create two sides where there might have been a lot more points of view before.
the problem with simplifying things like that is that you get a whole lot more resistance. - now you created "order independends" - before, some of those so called "independent" order players felt like being a PART of the order, they fit into the structure that the Bs| may or may not have offered. - now they don t anymore ... now they are clearly "independent" and on the other side of the fence.
if it is a serious council - try to figure out what percentage the Bs actually make up out of the whole active order community.
maybe it turns out that there are 10 Bs - but 90 independent and very active order players. that would mean that 90% of the order players are not Bs. should a council not then consist of 1 orderplayer and 9 independent players?
if you now say "you deserve" to have more voting power. - you d have to answer to.... "how do you deserve it - what deed did you do to "deserve" anything?" ( that is no critizism - that is just something you gotto ask yourself )
when the power of a faction lies in the ability to "force" their views onto others - it is the right of others to "force" their view onto the faction, too - if they prove to be more powerful. - but such an archaic image of a "voting community" wouldn t do disco much good.
