There are also much more people who can't RP properly and rather powertrade for their BS than the kind of people we all would like to see here. Does that mean these people should force their views on all other people?
The majority doesn't always knows best and rarely acts more competent than a selected few. That's why player factions should ALWAYS have the last say on their diplomacy. There should be bilateral respect between faction players and indies, yes, but to make any kind of diplomacy between (player) factions possible, some kind of centralized power is required.
I know it's rather offtopic, though I'd like to use this opportunity to mention that I really don't like the role the Order plays at the moment. Heck, the Order saved the last libertonian president, they should not be allied with pirates or fight Liberty - isn't their goal protecting humanity from the Nomads? They should maintain neutrality to other Human factions (with a possible exception of the Outcasts, which worship the Nomads after all), not fight them.
