"Well, nothing like escaping Crete on a whim." Juan said, it was intended to be directed at Sydney, then he realized that he was more or less talking to himself. He sighed and lit up one of his ciggerettes when the bartender came over and ripped it out of his hands.

"No smoking." the guy said with a gruff voice. "If you wanna smoke, take it to the f***in' smoking section. That s*** irritates my sinuses."

Juan looked at the bartender for a moment longer and started to sniff as if to be crying. The bartender gave him one last glare and went back about his business.

"Hard a** huh?" Sydney said.

"Tell me about it." he replied.

"I was talking about you." she said.

Juan looked over from his drink at his cousin who had a smirk on her face. Why am I even here... he asked himself.
