' Wrote:I RP my order character like any of the other hundreds of officers in the order, with the exception of taking charge of some research-oriented RP projects. I've had no issues finding things to entertain me without declaring myself a ninja cyborg tentacle ape from hell.
My junker, likewise, is just a normal guy smugglin for a livin, with a crew full of rejects from various places around sirius who're just out to get a buck and make it in the universe. I have plenty of fun RP'ing that character, without being some black ops genetically enhanced supersmuggler that can turn invisible and play mindtricks on you.
Perhaps the other players here just arent putting in enough effort?
Who is asking you to be a genetically enhanced supersmuggler with Tizona and Kraken Turrets on your Armored Transport?
Here is another reason why RPing as an average joe does not work: It pisses the player off. It just isn't fun, because most people won't RP with you the way you RP back. If you want proof of this, talk to me anytime I get off BPA)Abigail.Thorn and ask me what my pulse is. It just isn't worth it.
' Wrote:I would be great if the players here who are beating Tenacity on the head re-count how many (For example) Corsair Gunboats, with Nomad turrets, sit in locations (Like one I just saw parked in the Baltimore drydock) looking to prove how tough they are. Shoot a few players and go into the Alaska system.
The idea I though was to RP here, not: "I pawns you-HaHa!"
The only way to fix this has already been suggested by me at nauseium. This does not mean players/clans can not trade weps. That makes for RP. Example:
Faction "A" is at war with Faction "B" and needs a shipment of guns from allied Faction "C". They have to go through Faction "B"s territory however to do this.
This is how players obtained certain weapons in another RP mod. (More controlled = less headaches) This was all worked out on the forum in RP fashion "before hand".
People are making excuses and spouting pretzel logic to justify they wish to do what ever they want and "yes, others OORP - "Not me" cause I found these guns and ship and stuff . . . yeah . . . that's the ticket!"
Either stop complaining you were blown up by an Outcast cruiser with Corsair guns and a IMG IFF, or File sanction reports as a full time job . . . or make it so clans can only buy their stuff and make RP the priority on this "Role-Play server".
Sir, I think you are looking for the dictator registry. I'm here to have fun, not adhere to anymore rules. Seriously, it all comes down to common sense, and if someone can't agree with common sense, then that's when the rules come into play. You don't need to file a billion sanction reports, but talk to someone, and if someone is really dumb, then show him the sanction forum...
' Wrote:I'm on the fence between RP-totalitarianism and RP-leniency. On the one hand, I hate it when I see people acting stupidly, or doing stuff that could be considered ooRP (though not actually against the rules), or using equipment which makes no sense for them to have just because it's better... On the other hand, I hate to see things get so strict that a casual (but not lolwut) player can't have fun and do his own thing (within certain boundaries). And I really hate to turn in sanction reports unless someone is really being an ass and/or directly ruining the fun for others.
I do agree with this man here. He speaks with the wisdom of a thousand suns.
