Different armor types for ships?

There is maybe a little something going to come into use that will change people from only using mk 8.

As for the armour upgrades, you say 'Just add the buffer onto armour', it's not that simple, I really don't think it can even be done.

Aermour upgrades don't work like shields, they only reduce the damage you take from incoming fire.

Armor upgrades simply multiply the ship's base armor by a certain amount. The damage taken remains the same, the ship just has more HP.
