In response to the recent discussion on the power of 'official' factions, I've come to the conclusion, especially with the consideration that this group currently encompasses 3 official factions, that such a 500 million can be -much- better spent (such as on, say, a system or a colonization of a guard system, for one of the three, or a Dunkirk, or bribes, or mercenary payments...) Than for a spot on a list. We are, so far as I'm aware, supported in this role by the vast majority of the Bretonian population, and actually include a great many of such. The only thing we lose is a chance at recruiting (which we can do from within the ranks of the Bretonian factions and indies, outside of a dump) and a message dump (and we can use either the Bowex, the BAF, or the BPA dump. Moreover, we have an established RP thread, can establish RP stories. On official factions influencing further development...We've the 3 already mentioned, and the possibility of a Gateway and BMM one. I do not see the point.
