' Wrote:Shoot, maybe I shouldn't have told you, now I won't be able to get any work and Orin (another designer) might be pissed at me. If you can't tell, I like it, I'd love to know how you did that motion blur effect.

Ooh, heh. Sorry, my bad :$

I will do a quick tutorial on it, if you wish, later when I get more time. It's not that hard. Mainly it's the combination of Wind, Motion Blurr, Smudge, Dogde+Burn and a custom brush I made for the effect. It also has a minor "heat blurr". You know, the "shaking/trembling" of the air around the exhaustion point.

' Wrote:I don't like the orange in the border that goes over the planet, I realize that's probably part of the effect but I think i might like a consistent border better (all blue).

Giving it a blue color might cause the whole composition to generally loose it's effect. I wanted to make a general contrast. A centering. So now, when you look at the image it generally drags your view to the center, while making the effect blue, it would blend too much together.

' Wrote:The lighting on the top of the ship doesn't feel quite right, the top is in shadow where it seems like it would be in full light.

Might be true, but if you look at it, you can see a thin line of light right on the very edge. As you know, the top of the arches is a triangle /\ which is not a round surface. As the sun behind the planet is casting hard light (counted as vivid impact and spot hit), the ship is generally in shadow by that side. The cocpit is round, therefore it's a bit more effected by the light.

However, if one wishes, I can add more light, yes. No problemo.:)

' Wrote:I like the monochrome idea for the ship but a little color might be nice, maybe a logo or the words "Dublin 6400" if you dont think coloring the hull pr cockpit would work.

I don't feel like the ship would need coloring. It wouldn't fit into the atmosphere, and I directly wanted to color it to this, because the light from behind impacts the screen space occlusion from the point of view.

I can, however add some taggs to the ship if the requester wants to, like a number, logo, words... Shoudn't be a problem.

' Wrote:I'm not a big fan of the small font, it's too much like Star Wars font and not enough like the font above it, maybe if you increased the letter spacing and increased the vertical height of the letters.

The small font is a general contrast effect between the title and the subtittle. Makes you actually "want" to read it. But sure, I can change the font. Shouldn't be a problem.

' Wrote:Those are the only things that bug me, other than that I think it's pretty perfect. I also want to say that I am being hypercritical here, it's pretty great as it is and most of these comments are somewhat subjective.

Thanks, and no worries. I am used to far more heavy critics than that.:)
