The East India Trading company is a great analogy. This kind of view of GMG should have been obvious from the start. GMG is an independant organization. It doesn't answer to and follow Kusari's word of law or any of the four house's word of law it does respect it's Kusari brethren and vice-versa. We aren't talking a full house here, simply an independant sovereign organization, this is not a very difficult concept to understand. It doesn't take much brain power to do a little reading in-game, it does however take a lot of boring flying around though. So I have pulled together every scrap of info I can get involving GMG sovereignty and relations to Kusari, how the war started and was won including GMG's experience in warfare and tactics, why Samura isn't expected to be competition and how the aftermath of the war still keeps Rheinland from being competition even 200yrs after the war.
I was informed by a moderator that there is a limit of SS's per post, understandable. I'll organize them by category in packages no bigger than 10 and post 6 seperate posts with them. It should also be good read, especially for the faction they refer to, as there will be ton of info that is great for RP.
So I hope you enjoy the reading and find it informative. There are a couple bits of info I didn't know before and I was glad I read and put this together.
GMG is a sovereign organization:
News from many bases
Aomari infocard
GMG rumour
Sig-13 infocard
From Naha
From KSP who acknowledges that they aren't privvy to all GMG info (doesn't look like Kusari control)
From Kruger, who knew the Sigs were already GMG claimed
Rheinland didn't think GMG was sovereign....mistake.
From Kruger, they know that Helgoland being in Sigma13 doesn't make it Rheinlands
A Kusarian who notes GMG is different, also points out Rheinland's h-fuel problem
"The Eighty" how it started, who was involved and how they were involved:
Kruger stuck with impure gas
Kruger had nowhere to expand
The ship wreck that became the catalyst
Tensions rise
Daumann quickly pushed for the war to make profits
KNF secretly backed GMG in war, secret is key not a bunch of warships coming in to fight side by side
Kruger abandoned their holding early and quickly
This I believe is the former Kruger station (Kruger's wrecked depot in southern oxygen fields
Yanagi Debris Field infocard 1
Yanagi Debris Field infocard 2
I couldn't find the info of Naha being taken over, I'll take this moment to say that I have seen it before.
It is true that Rheinland had captured Naha at one point in time in "The Eighty" but GMG didn't lose half it's
forces from that single battle, GMG lost half it's forces during the whole war, Rheinland lost ALL it's forces.
Continued on next post.
"The Eighty" how it started, who was involved and how they were involved cont.:
GMG knew what tactics to use
GMG defeats RM
A very decisive win
RM almost had survivors....but no
I'll re-post this in-case any missed it
Helgoland Infocard
Some immediate aftermath here is the SS of GMG losing half through entire war not one battle
ALG has contract to clean (also notice the Liberty bit heheh, news to me)
Junkers actually work with ALG but have reasons for being slow
Despite being slow it's temporary
And yes, once the scrap is gone ALG will leave, Junkers should to as they reason for being there is over and a new miner
will replace that area of space (speculation on my part but very reasonable, although ALG and Junker resistance would make
for continued RP in the area)
Rheinland economy was devastated, they aren't competitors, even 200 yrs after war.
New Berlin infocard
Empress's poor decision, 20/20 hindsight
RM's morale gone after loss
RM took on huge debts by borrowing from Liberty
RM limping now
DHC loses contract to build RM ships
Rheinland inflation is still out of control
Kruger never recovered
Kruger need to merge with ALG to survive
But still tries to maintain operations for the publics sake
To be cont....
Rheinland economy was devastated continued.
Planet Holstein was halted and now only marginally habitated by DHC
RM abondoned staging ground
GMG made raids in Frankfurt to ensure Kruger didn't recover
RM was to broke to do anything about it
RepEx did rebuild their depot and continues it's operations
Here are a few SS's of GMG's expertise on the battlefield and their knowledge of battlefield
The KNF were incapable of stopping the Wilde, not GMG. In our home we scattered them when KNF couldn't
GMG knows it's space well enough that it know the JH's (concrete evidence as oppsed to the speculation of
"well by now our lawfuls should know")
and our experience in warfare even allows us to train
Yes as the victor of two major confrontations, GMG pilots are highly trained, highly skilled, and highly organized in the field of battle
Samura's decline and Kishiro's rise, Samura isn't ready to be a competitor for GMG
GMG switched partners and it has made an impact on the corporations in Kusari.
Samura hasn't received control of Hokkaido from Kusari officials yet, GMG ain't going to let it happen
Samura isn't done developing their stuff in Hokkaido yet
Samura is declining and loses construction market to Kishiro
Samura unsuccessfull in defending agains BD
Samura employees looking for work with Kishiro
Samura losing KNF contract to build fleet
why? because Samura's models are obsolete.
Also KNF has come to prefer Kishiro innovation over the unchanging Samura
So KNF started working with Kishiro on Nansei
So that KNF can get something special from Kishiro
More on Kishiro rising above Samura, not only with new work with KNF but also with increased business with GMG
to be cont.....
Kishiro rising higher to maybe supercede Samura
of course GMG/Kishiro's joint efforts for Sig19
GMG's needs has provided Kishiro with a 24/7 operations boost
If the current trend continues Kishiro will replace Samura as the dominant Kusari Corporation
