If you find it unfair that you'll have to trade 2 weeks to buy that incredi-awesome battleship instead of just 1 week, you might need to consider a different route that doesn't involve corsair space, or a system that has high piracy activity. Pirates rob tradeships, you should be happy we're not asking money AND all cargo.
