BH gunboats PLEASE

balance is not equilibrium and not fairness. - balance means that what you use fits into what your faction is supposed to have.

when you complain about balance in terms of stats....

is it balanced to have lvl9 guns like that?

258 damage, 5.33 refire, 750 speed, 72 poweruse ( optimal ship: eagle - 10400 power )

vs.

556 damage, 4.00 refire, 700 speed, 126 poweruse ( optimal ship: sabre - 11400 power )

and you haven t seen many ppl complain about this - cause that is balance, too. the one faction is simply not supposed to have more advanced gear. - the other faction has better ships and weapons. - reason for that can be found in the lore of the factions roles.

with that in mind - base all balance onto the factions lore. - once you understand what the corsairs are, how they came into being - what they achieved and what they are capable of - and then compare it to who the BHG are, how they came into being and what they are capable of.

and when it THEN turns out that they are 100% identical - then we can talk about trying to make things "the same".

the BHG is not the corsairs, their ships are not meant to be the same - for all we know they could be twice as good - or twice as bad. - and for that... one should be grateful that the faction gear is still "pretty fair".

be glad that you HAVE a gunboat at all ( as much as a BHG can be glad to have one at all )

balancing stuff means that we try to achieve a fair learning curve with ships. - its boring to master a ship from the very start - and more satisfying to feel / experience that you actually become better.

balance is when an ACE pilot defeats a first timer - but the first timer learns in the process - and has fun doing so.

other than that - a BHG gunship is a BHG gunship - not a corsair gunship. - comparing them is like comparing cucumber with apples - they re both plants... but thats about it.


edit: nerf it is a very dangerous thing to say / do for it can be applied both ways....

next time a junker complains that their warren bomber is worse than the praetorian - if we d give in nerfing for the corsairs good compared to the BHG - should we give in to the junkers complaints to make the praetorian as bad as the warren? - i think not. they re both bombers.... but they re meant to be different .

edit2: either way - the BHG gunship is good - it stays good and i shot down Doom in a bomber on the test server !!! ( ok, he was afk and not moving... but even so )
