Well, boss, good and bad news.
The good news: an actual escort mission, though I had to go down on standard pricing a bit to allow for the client's pocketbook.
He was running some odd polymer thingies up to Honshu when I offered service. Escorted him there, and then on a tour of some of the more out-of-the way markets.. FP11, Corfu.. the Neutron express run to CRS. He was thankful to the tune of 200 K and expenses.
The bad news: While settling up outside Cambridge, a bloody DJC of all things, a something Cid, made a pass at the SF Sierra. I had not been invited to attend so was standing by when the blighter opened up on me! The Sierra stood her ground, and I and another brave soul managed to save our own souls by putting the DJC away. Like an idiot, I had yet to dock to repair rad damage, and still had a Nova parked "in the boot" to avoid the rad damage. (Yes, Jay, I see you smirking, o merciless Mentor..). Well, to make it short, that crafty undead DJC must have had a spare ship in the garage, and caught up with me at the New London Gate..
Needless to say, I required a ride back to Waterloo, and a tow for my eviscerated new Raven Claw.
Net for the evening.. a negative 7 Mil or so for the hardware, and a valuable lesson. Even one remaining DJC is one too many,
