Voted for "other". Yes, I think it would work, but not in the typical way a faction works. No tags, no IFF, no openly accessible member/char names, likely no forum RP beyond a faction description. Knowing that "that guy is in Division 18" kinda ruins it, no?

Eh, like I said maybe we could work to develop Division 18's background a bit and make it something more of an insurgency like Das Wilde?

However, if Division 18 were to stay a sorta highly classified spy faction, then it would be kinda hard to RP in game... Heh, I should of mentioned that changing the way the faction works is a possibility, but oh well.

Oh, one thing I should point out here. Since a lot of people don't seem to even know that Division 18 exists, maybe twisting it to a small terrorist group would work?

Just think of how confused the lawfuls would get when they try to hunt down an enemy that is right under their nose...

I've always considered the LSF to have that problem to a degree. Yes, they are a military organisation, but they are also an intelligence one.

The LSF tag kinda ruins any attempt at covert activity, given it means you can identify them a considerable distance. It's not like they can sneak up on you.

As to the original question, yes, I think it's possible. However, Liberty might be the single worst house to try that sort of RP.

I've gotten good RP from people in Liberty and I've gotten terrible RP in Liberty from both the common lolwut's and the most unexpected of people, so I really think Liberty wouldn't be a bad place to experiment with. Maybe the faction could improve the RP atmosphere if there were enough rumors or people RPing as them...

About the intel. vs military organization though, I think it could change at this point. There's nothing really out there that says they are intelligence only group, maybe they could have subgroups that enforce their rule such as assassins? Or maybe even highly skilled troops or pilots that carry out their dirty work through being possessed by Nomads, or just for money.

I tryed to make this faction had a Forum set up and everthing, but haveing a spy faction just doesn't work with tags, everyone all ready knows your a spy. So for now I have it shut down in a dark corner somewhere.

Its so secret, you cant openly RP it... or your cover will be blown. Only way it could work is for some sort of ID or something.

But if anyone has any ideas? I would gladly support. The forum need use somewhere, right now its being worked into a similar idea for gallia with more open RP.

It's good to hear that you tried to get it off the ground. If you ask me, you should be able to present Division 18 as any way you see fit AS LONG as you have background, information, and facts to back up your reasoning.

Anywho, Division 18 is like a piece of hot metal right now. It's new, it can be changed to reflect people's ideas as long as they have facts to back it up, and it does seem like it will work. Wow, that was a sucky simile...

I know the Wilde are operatives in Rheinland space (as the Lore document points out), but Division 18 is a group that involves Liberty, not Rheinland.
