Dear Colleagues,

I can well understand your delicate situation and fears and assure you, slave trading within CR ZOI is not a business we have the slightest interest in. We do not have anything to hide as such, but you do understand we operate all over Sirius, and actions welcomed by one faction are denounced by another, while business, survival and politics require we deal with both.

Acknowledging this I hope you use the method hereby allowed from you only with due and thorough consideration, and keep your findings between our factions, so as to not endanger our operations or the safety of our families elsewhere in Sirius. You also have full right to demand such cargo and engage if refused, as long as our factions' neutrality is honored. I will also make sure my future affiliates are aware of this agreed upon detail, and any attempts to dishonor or endanger our mutual trust will lead to severe punishment or possible banishment within our faction.

Faction tags are a necessity for simplicity and ease of operations, and I agree on this as well. Hereby both your requests are deemed completely justified and simple negligence on our behalf, and naturally allowed with a warm heart.

I hereby proclaim the birth of an unofficial faction called Independent Junkers' Union of 817 A.S., tagged hereby JU17. I propose the contents of the treaty to be edited according to following:

- All references towards arris shall be hereby rewritten JU17 and concern the new faction, thus 2.1.c will also remove reference to other Junkers, as they are as any other ally.
- new term 2.1.f JU17 will not use Tau systems for slave trade.
- new exclusion 2.1.h In warranted suspicion of slave trade or enslaving CR, IMG or Junkers, demanding stoppage and scanning cargo is allowed, as are the possible consequences of demanding slave cargo or engaging upon refusal. None of these actions break the terms of the treaty.

"Warranted suspicion" is of course a term suspect to abuse, but I'm certain you (and we) use such forceful methods in extreme cases only, and in the future prove the whole clause is not even required.

I have full confidence in you and am willing to give to your use any method you require in order to prevent this questionable business from being carried out within your ZOI. As you can see, the rewritten treaty will also include a solemn promise of JU17 not even considering such endeavours.

The complete treaty in it's corrected form is represented below. I hope you give it due consideration, honor JU17 with your hospitality, and let us both welcome each other in an operation, that in the future shows the House factions how uncivilized and unsecure their primitive methods have made their systems, and how prosperous proper resolve can be.

TREATY OF NON-HOSTILITY AND TRUCE BETWEEN CR AND JU17

1. PURPOSE AND AIM

1.1. The purpose of this treaty is, within the Tau sectors

a) Produce a peaceful and regular presence in Tau among trustworthy and respectful parties
b) Provide new opportunities of trade and influence
b) Limit and eventually cease unauthorized and hostile activity among any third parties, either by mitigating their hostile attitude towards the participants of this treaty, encouraging their participation in it, or by attempting to remove their presence completely

2. PARTICIPANTS

2.1. This treaty includes two groups as parties

a) The other party is the faction and it's members of Colonial Remnant. Hereby written "CR".
b) The other party is the faction and it's members of Independent Junkers' Union of 817 A.S. Hereby written "JU17"
c) The treaty as of now excludes any other group, be that an ally, or otherwise.

2. MUTUAL WITHDRAWAL

2.1. Both parties will respect each others' immunity and avoid conflicting situations

a) CR will grant JU17 uninterrupted right of passage through systems affected by CR Zone of Influence. Hereby written ZOI
b) CR will not demand stoppage, scan or demand cargo, or engage JU17
c) Pending threat of CR ZOI violations unless official business deemed lawful by both parties is presented, CR will first and foremost advice and request JU17 to cancel the threat

d) JU17 will recognize total CR authority within their ZOI at, but not limited to, Tau systems and avoid CR zones and operatives unless requested to do so, or unless on official business deemed lawful by both parties, pending presentation before approach
e) JU17 will not demand stoppage, scan or demand cargo, or engage CR
f) JU17 will not use Tau systems for slave trade
g) JU17 will heed and immediately attempt to fulfill all advice and requests of CR personnel pending course change or presence within CR controlled areas

h) In warranted suspicion of slave trade or enslaving CR, IMG or Junkers, demanding stoppage and scanning cargo is allowed, as are the possible consequences of demanding slave cargo or engaging upon refusal. None of these actions break the terms of the treaty.

3. MUTUAL NON-HOSTILITY AND LIMITED AID

a) CR will not help any entities during their engagement on JU17 vessels
b) CR will attempt to pick up ejected JU17 pilots, and release them to the nearest neutral (i.e. Freeport) or Junker facility

c) JU17 will not help any entities during their engagement on CR vessels
b) JU17 will attempt to pick up ejected CR pilots, and release them to the nearest neutral (i.e. Freeport) or CR facility

e) Unless conflicting alliance treaty or force majeure so prevents, rendering military aid to treaty participant in said engagements, and advicing nearby friendly or neutral entities to act according to the treaty is of mutual interest. Politics or other reasons so dictating, it is, however, not mandatory
f) The participants to the treaty have complete and total rights of self preservation and defence, when dealing with allies of the said parties. The single exclusion to this, any ejected entities belonging to either CR and IMG, or Junkers, are to be released at the nearest neutral (ie. Freeport) or faction facility.

4. LIABILITY, CHANGE AND TERMINATION OF TREATY

4.1. Both parties approve the existence of other and non-intrusive, peaceful conduct of business, unless provided terms are deliberately broken

a) All deliberate attempts to break terms contained within the treaty justify, but do not necessitate immediate cancelling of the said treaty by wronged party
b) The party breaking treaty terms is liable for all damages caused, assessed in mutual diplomatic negotiations
c) The treaty is open for any proposed changes, pending mutual agreement

Unless you have any other requests of negotiation or clarification, I propose this draft is now complete and to both parties' best interests. I submit it to the honorary consideration of our friends the Colonial Remnants, and surrender myself to your grace.

With My Best Regards,
arris
