Aldo , I can't realy see the Millitary flying VERY Heavy Fighters , where the Police flies SUPER Heavy ones , but meh.

Think of it this way. Heavier = more sluggish. Let's presume the project wasn't really suited for the military's needs, as the ship didn't behave to spec during late tests. Be it because it was too prone to attacks by lighter fighters, be it because it lost too much in handling to compensate for a slight gain in firepower. For the military, who are constantly involved in dogfights against other fighters and capital ships it configured an inaceptable tradeoff. However, it proved a sound concept for the police, which usually deals with the barely maneuverable transport class ships. For them, the loss in handling wasn't as significative as the gain in firepower.

If that doesn't work for you, just consider the military to be a more serious institution than the police and while they fly Super Happy Fighters, we just fly Very Happy ones.

What would be really nifty is if the infocards for the ship was changed to confirm this compromise between the two factions. But factions aren't in the best of shape in their influence right now.
