Interesting Stuff about the AT

Well , seeing as someone brought up the AT as beeing a true civ GB , i did a lil research and i came to quite a few interesting conclusions!

Well, first of all , the AT is quite smaller than a GB ( No duh , eh ?) and more manouverable than even the lightest GB. Belive me. My old char AndrewChaotix (the BH pilot smuggler, which i will be setting up again since my old acc is gone) had an AT and ive had a BH char with a BH gunship. Also , it can thrust at 190 speed, just like a fighter. Meaning it can out-manouver a GB.

Secondly, the maximum damage that can be achieved with it is quite close to that of a GB. I did some calculations ( expensive word? YUS!) and:

An AT, equiped with full Transport 4 turrets (which is 7 for those who dont know) and 2 coddies ( the ones i tried out were Golden Blades, which are ... quite good so) had a DPS (damage per second) of 17600 hull and 8800 shield.

A GB, with 6 Liberty Gunboat Turrets ( which are some quite decent turrets, me thinks) had a DPS of 18000 hull and 9000 shield.

Well if you have at least a couple of working brain cells , you will realise that those 2 values are quite close to each other. Meaning a fully armed AT and a fully armed GB have simmilar damaging capabilities.

Now lets take a look at defensive capabilities. This is where the AT starts falling short a lil bit.
An Adv. Transport shield has 900 regen and 100000 capacity
A Gunboat shield has 2200 regen and 140000 capacity.
So , shields-wise , the AT has less than half the regen and about -1/3 the capacity. BUT , however it, beeing smaller , can dodge fire much easier , unlike most gunboats , in which its a dificult task.

Hull-wise , the AT has 60k hull. The nimblest ( just not to say weak:P) GB has 55k ( the BH gunship, see , nimble!:P) and the strongest one has 140k ( which is the rheinland GB... darn , that thing must be slower turning than a turtle). So , it doesnt have a too bad hull.

Now the final point is general equipment. The AT can only have a CM. A Gunboat can have both a CM and a CD. So , if you are on an AT , you might have a lil problem stoping people. Also , bots/bats-wise. The AT can carry 240 of those lil buggers. Now , the least amount a GB can carry is 280 ( which is the BH gunship) and the max amount is 480 (on the corsair lunchbox and the bretonian GB). I havent quite calculated how many times you could regenerate your shields fully with those 3 amounts , maybe i will later, but bottom line is , a GB can regenerate more HP.

Conclusion: With all the facts stated above , you might wanna take a second look on the good old AT before choosing a GB. Or not. Its all up to you. I just found funny, all these numbers and stuff. Makes me feel safer when i get my AT. Plus , i had a half hour to spare, so i did something pointless.
