[COMMENCEZ LE PLAYBACK] This is Bruce Montague, General d'Armee Navalle, Margrave of Burgundy, responding to a request for reinforcement. It is the 9th of February, 734 A.G.S.
My good friend, while I recognize that the separatists have shifted focus to Dauphine, they are only avoiding Burgundy due to their continued defeats there. Should our defenses falter there, they may once again bring forces as close as five clicks from Avallon itself. Given the Princess's presence there, we cannot allow that to happen. I am sorry, but I cannot relieve forces from the battlegroups defending the paths into Nevers space- nor can I relieve the Beuvray or Rocroi, which have become symbols of our dominance in Burgundy and instrumental in our defensive intelligence network.
To be honest, I am more fearful for Lorraine than I am for Dauphine. Council knows that the main armada will not hesitate to stop any major attacks on the stations there, and will likely do no more than attempt to wither our resources- in fact, I wonder if they intend for us to allocate ships to Dauphine that might otherwise stop their activities in Lorraine, which we cannot hold against a dedicated Council attack.
However, if more forces will permit you to draw out more of their soldiers into a useless attempt to force us to re-deploy, then you shall have them. I will see what ships might be brought in from the core worlds before they are designated as a part of the invasion fleet. If memory serves, another Valor using the same modifications as the Temeraire possesses will be ready in the coming weeks- perhaps you'll get your own flagship, my friend.
Perhaps we could also squeeze a few ships out of patrols if we persuaded the corporations to fund larger escort groups- the reduced number of lost transports would also lessen Council's supplies, and thus their ability to wage war upon us. We should discuss this with Margrave Archambault, he will know their situation better than we.
Continue your efforts, my friend, for they are most appreciated. Your successes against the Sirians have not gone unnoticed.
For King and Country!
Bruce Montague, General d'Armee Navalle, Margrave of Burgundy
