Trading sucks now...

Ive some issues with the new economy, and the language being used to discuss it.

To begin, Power trading. Any merchant in their right mind would work as hard as possible(or as they are willing) to earn as much cash in the least amount of time. That is RP. Now, of course, there were some routes which made no sense. Doesn't matter, that's been drastically changed. But if you think for a moment that this will alleviate powertrading, you are wrong. Powertrading is here and will continue to stay here, on routes that look more rp-ish, because that is what the economy now is. The problem with power trading, beyond crazy oorp routes, is the behavior of pilots. They're in corporate IDed trains, now, but they're doing the exact same thing, and doing it for longer, because it takes them more time. Nothing's changed. Power trading....is what trading is. If you mean, by RP trading, trading at a loss, or for marginal profits...Explain to me, please, how your corporation supports that enterprise. How, for example, does Synth food feed the world, if most bases buy synth for less than Stuttgart sells it?

Capships: well, again, I don't expect a damn thing will change....people will still buy them. And they are welcome to.

On the routes themselves, and the decreased overall profits...It just makes things more expensive. Everything is worth more, in real terms, because less money can be made. I assume this is meant to counter the problem we have with the set limit on money. The routes, in my opinion (no disrespect to the work put into them), are merely a sketch before a portrait. They're a great drawing, but need extensive fleshing out beyond just some balancing tweaks. Things need to be added. Two stop routes, why not. Short stops between the far routes, side trips, et cetera. If you want the majority of the traders to use the long world tour routes, make them worth more, but there should be other routes available.

On the topic of RP trade routes, people often espouse the belief that corporations only follow the lanes, or some other nonsense. To be sure, lanes are great, while they are there. But corporations were founded, systems were explored, using Cruise and JH. Certianly they haven't forgotten them. Even Vanilla transports sometimes wander off in wild directions from the gates (where are they going, really?) Ageria encourages use of lanes...but often the profits do not. RP? Businesses follow profit. The RP is deciding risk, and then deciding morals. And then you gather as much profit as you can.
