Yar, Im also of the opinion that the Damn Kavosh left them behind for the Salmon A'la carte so as to breadcrumb their progress across the Sirius sector and to lead them to the various little treats that they left behind. Part of the educational tools that were to be left behind their eventual use.

Before the Hu-mans came along and mucked everything up that is.

Though, of course, itd be a real trick to actually have your mans figure that one out.
