As far as I'm aware, wormholes (Einstein-Rosen bridges) can transport someone to a corresponding aperture anywhere in space AND TIME.
Weather our jumpholes qualify as classic wormholes or not probably doesn't matter too much. A malfunction leading to time-travel is perfectly feasible.
I don't see a reason why you can't RP the above.
