Yep, I think a good test of 'completely changing' your faction's RP can be seen when you look at a list of bases your faction bases off. If it consists of:
Your faction's bases, and no others - you probably haven't changed that much!
If it consists of
"Islay Base in Edinburgh (6 k from the Leeds JH) the Kusari Battleship Yamaguchi in Tau 31, Shinakuk Station, a Samura base, all of 15k from the Tau31 jg and 10k from the tau 31 jh, Oso Station a KNF base(you know it as Glasgow), Daisin station a Samura base (you know it as Stokes) Battleship Nagasaki"
then it looks like you've made some pretty huge changes!
A pretty direct parallel to this would be seeing the LWB raiding Gamma or pirating in O-3. I don't think people would see this and say 'hmm, this seems pretty vanilla'
