Freelancer/Router Problems

Alright, a while back, you might have remembered a post I made about the server dropping me.

Whenever I connect to the server, for about the first three times, I get red lag and it disconnects me. Sometimes it won't give up, and it ends up taking me 30 minutes to finally play. When the server crashes, or I have to switch accounts or disconnect in -any- way, the whole cycle begins all over...

I've tried everything, forwarding ports 2300-2400, disabling my firewall, re-installing FL, you name it.
I'm really running out of options, some days I spend more time trying to connect than actually playing :(

Can anyone make a suggestion?

I found the source of my problem: My router. When I directly connected my modem to my computer, this problem stopped happening. However, there's another problem as well...
Whenever I view the server list in Freelancer, my computer freezes for a second, and the other computers connected to my router get a "network cable unplugged" error, and get disconnected from the internet. If I ALT-TAB while viewing the server list, I have that message as well.

Any way to solve these problems?
