Action Report for: Hauptfeldwebel Lenora Schneider Filed on December 5th, 817 A.S. Location: Hamburg Action Type: Repulsion of Liberty Invaders (Class 4)
As I was just finishing paperwork and heading to sleep, the alarm sounded and I was called to duty. Admiral Engels was coordinating a defense group aboard the RNC-Emden, and engaged in combat against a Liberty fleet including heavy capital ships. Although I first went for my Bergelmir, the Liberty capital fleet was swiftly dismantled by our own and only their snub forces remained. I took my Wraith to the site of the battle outside Planet Hamburg, where I encountered not only the fight but also a familiar LWB by the name of Udo Ackermann. While his attitude and career path leaves something to be desired, when I called him to do his duty to Rheinland he happily darted into the fray and opened fire on the Liberty fighter squadron. My guncam was non-functional during the battle, but he, myself, and another pilot in a Wraith engaged multiple Primary Fleet fighters and bombers and destroyed all but one without casualties- the other fled from the scene to report their loss to his superiors. Several of our capital ships were heavily damaged by the enemy bombers while we worked to destroy them, and I suggest working on improving coordination between fighter wings and heavy support to minimize the danger to our own forces. While I am confidant the forces deployed by the Kriegsmarine were more than sufficient to defeat the Liberty attack team, I do believe that without Herr Ackermann's combat "heroics" we may have suffered casualties up to gunboat class... a most distressing thought.
