I'd sugest port forward, but that requires you to have an ethernet cable directly to the router. I went to radioshack and bought 20 foot cable. reaches to the most important places in my house, my room and my living room. I also have a 7 foot extension cable.
as for the wireless thing, I'll say something when i figure that out myself
