Developments of the Bretonian Region

Bretonia...Has not gotten much love. It is still very much vanilla, excepting Newcastle...And we'd like to change that. Even with the war, its been 17 years, and in that time, Liberty has managed to expand into umpteen million systems, the Corsairs and the Outcasts have spread out, the Hessains have grown, the Lane hackers, the IMG...The Blood Dragons have begun fielding capital ships, The Zoners have colonized two planets, one of which needed to be first terraformed...This has been, since the founding of the origninal colonies, the most productive, expansive time in the history of Sirius. Bretonia would like a slice.

So, even with the war, we'd want some expansion. Some of it is caused by the war, like the desire for new military shipyards, and the infusion of foreign companies.

I'd like to stress that all of these are only ideas and suggestions, which may well be controversial. They are in no way final plans.

Changes we're proposing/requesting are:

In Cambridge:
Lisbon rock Switched to Sair, a Molly base in Edinburgh or Leeds to compensate. This will give the Benitez somewhere to base their trials of manhood from(it will need a Legionaire LF).

The position of the base is troublesome for the Corsairs in the extreme. It lies on the route from Corsair space to New London and Leeds, and one of our routes to Dublin. It lies on our route to Trafalgar, and sits right across the main route for Artefact Smugglers through Bretonia. Is this a problem for the mod? No. Trouble is a GOOD thing. However, in RP, the Corsairs wouldn't tolerate this base for more than a week. The location of it is SO troublesome, in RP, that I have no doubt it would be either obliterated or seized by the Corsairs almost immediately after it was made operational.

Planet Cambridge should have evidence of the Phantom Mox Bombing.

The Line in Cambridge should be extended/Beefed up. If you don't know what it its, the Line is all the weapons platforms beside the tradelane from Planet Camb to Battleship Norfolk. It is a vanilla object, and in rp, ineffective(against vanilla ships, in Bretonia, this means it targets mkI HF, and it sees VHF every day). I'd like to see it at least noticeable...denser Weapons Platforms would be great.

In New London:
The Molly Destroyer moved again, because, well, it should keep moving around.
Kensington...Could use a bit more substance than just a chain of docking ports...more towers, or..something. Its just shabby.

The Xenos have better bases.

In Leeds:
An ALG base of some sort, for cleaning up the mess. They're getting a zone for mining toxic waste there, and they're a vanilla ally of Gateway.

The planet should get a slew of orbital weapons platforms, at different orbits. The tradelanes between Leeds, stokes, and LD-14 should be shut down, and minefields put up between Leeds and Stokes. LD14 should get a sphere of mines around it(And the JH). By the 31 Gate, there should be capitalship wreckage, from both sides.

Edinburgh:
The Edinburgh Project. I like Katyn's model, and would like to add a Molly base in the Dublin cloud(see Cambridge changes), as well as a Gateway shipping platform near Ayr. This would create a three way conflict in the system, between Gaians, BAF, and Mollies.

Dublin:
A gate to Chester, in the top right corner, turn the gate from NL so its pointed at a lane project between the two gates.

Chester:
A terraformable moon for that gas giant, and a Planetform survey station, as well as a BMM military shipyards, as well as a gate project.

Manchester
Addition of a Gateway Base, opposite Shefield.

Newcastle
Lane and gate to Swansea(which will have lanes to Cortez), Carlile habitable. There's rumors about work being done on Carlile, and the Swansea-Cortez gate would improve playerflow through newcastle. Kuriane suspects it wont mess up the trade routes much, because of the size of Newcastle. The Nomad City and Belfast to be Retconned out of Newcastle and into Swansea.


A new system, Swansea, between Newcastle and Cortez.
This system is centered around a pair of stars in the Barrier Nebula, which have cleared the center. The system will be a retcon to have been developed as an additional connection between liberty and Bretonia in 620 AS(then just the lower tradelanes) And the northern half has been developed since the nomad war...The Shipyard is itself a construction project.

And an inclusion of three additional 'borderworlds' systems, in the proposed Lambda Cluster, a recently discovered cluster of holes near an unstable star and/or a solar nursery, which has led to the jump holes only recently stabilizing. Still largely unknown, it will have mostly scientific/survey bases, with a light unlawful presence.



All of the tradelanes/Gates should start as projects for a mod, then be active. The bases should hopefully expand over time, as well.

I very much disagree with the statement that the map is inaccurate.
