' Wrote:1. The Mollys have their NPCs in Cambridge by the Leeds jump hole and in the asteroid field adjacent to it (so yes they do actually have a presence there). The Hessians have their NPCs by the Cambridge jump hole in O-3. I'd say that area of Cambridge is relatively safe...
2. The Corsairs are also being hit hard by the Wilde apparently (according to news item anyways), though it's not being reflected in game in any way for either the Corsairs or Hessians so...
3. The Hessians are going to expand to Cambridge soon themselves, so say rumours on a fair few bases.

The Cardiff Field doesn't have Molly NPCs there, and it never has. The only pirates there have been Corsairs who were passing through to the New London Jump Hole. The Hessians are fighting near the Cambridge Hole, yes, but to stop the Corsairs from pirating and collecting resources where the Hessians can't stop them and attempt a strike at Cadiz. If the Hessians could gain a foothold in Cambridge, then they'd have done it already.

Where are these rumors coming from? Are they vanilla, or are they something new? The Hessians are hard pressed, apparently, so one would think that they'd have trouble moving farther into Omega-3 while fighting both the Corsiars and Wilde, not to mention the fact that there is the BAF as the legitimate power as well. If anywhere, the Mollys should probably build a base near the New London Hole, not in the middle of a Corsair-controlled ice field...

' Wrote:That would provide an even bigger basis for coordinated Hessian-Molly attacks against Corsairs there.
According to what Kuraine posted in the other thread, the Hessians and Mollys will be in contact soon enough. As to why Mollys would want any contact with the Hessians: maybe the fact that the Mollys have to fend off a massive Corsair invasion of Dublin and the Hessians are capable of helping them on that front by coordinating their attacks on the Corsair path to Dublin? I'd put increased Hessian presence in Omega-47 as pretty important to the Mollys, and say that Hessians would rather have the Corsairs gone from Omega-49 as well...

Why would the Hessians help the Mollys, though? They're fighting the Corsairs, yes, but that wasn't a good enough reason for the Hessians to ally with one of the largest military powers in Sirius (Outcasts), why would they ally themselves with a separatist group in Bretonia who is much weaker just because of that? It doesn't make much sense to me.

On another note, the Corsairs hold a steady garrison in Omega-49 from which to attack Arranmore, at the request of the Zoners so that Bretonia believes Omega-49 is too much work to conquer. I'm not sure why there was never a Corsair base there, but that was the RP, last I checked, and whatever the Hessians do in Omega-47 is their business, but the Corsairs are being catered to by the Zoners in Omega-49, and all the Hessians could do is try and keep some of their reinforcements from reaching Omega-49, though how successful that would be with their eyes on Tangier is a question.

' Wrote:Well... Mollys already have a base in an ice field. Taypord Base in Dundee. Gaia isn't really exploited for food, and nothing the Mollys would do against it would bother the Bretonian government much. It would rather enrage the Gaians against the Mollys instead.
Ayr is being terraformed by Planetform, and there is a Planetform base in its orbit. Hardly a place for a Molly station.

I'd say just leave Edinburgh to the Gaians... There's a better basis for a non-aggression pact that way, without their forces having to bump shoulders in a place that already is fairly crowded.

The fact that it's in an ice field is of little relevance, however, the fact that the Corsairs control said ice field is of relevance. It's make more sense to move the Molly base to the Newcastle Debris Field, or, at a stretch, the Cardiff Asteroid Field, instead of in a completely Corsair controlled field.

Back onto Edinburgh, why wouldn't the Mollys want to exploit something that isn't exploited much at the moment? The thought that there isn't a plethora of delectable foodstuffs and exotic goods being shipped to the Shetland is laughable. The thought that any separatist-terrorist-pirate organization wouldn't want to exploit it is, well, silly...

' Wrote:Um, if the Corsairs are sandwiched between Mollys and Hessians in the Omegas, they're more likely to pull out of Dublin.

Also, it's a blood feud. Thermonuking Cork ring any bells?

Besides, the Hessians and Mollys were founded in almost the exact same fashion, the events which caused both to come into existence also played their part in the formation of the IMG, who get on okay with both groups, and are made up of both Dubliners and Rheinlanders.

Also they both have to hawk their contraband to someone. Open up markets for gold, blood diamonds and Guinness, much like the Outcasts and Corsairs are looking to expand on their smuggling rings.

How are the Corsairs sandwiched in the Omegas? They're on the offensive against the Mollys, though not by surprise anymore, since the Mollys have found out about the Omega-49 hole by now, and the Hessians are being fought to a standstill because of the Wild. They aren't sandwiched in any sense of the term. Outcast news says they're on the offensive, which I think, can be used to gauge how pressed the Outcast allies are pretty well...

My point? Move the base to the Newcastle Field in Cambridge instead, and rename the current one to be Corsair. It makes more sense this way...

[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
