Gaians and Corsairs

You know, something I never quite understood about the Gaians is this: Why do they care about Planetform actually changing dead planets into living ones? After all, Harris was a dead planet before it was decided to terraform it. Sure, it had an atmosphere, but it had no lifeforms on it whatsoever. Ayr, Atka and California Minor have no lifeforms on them, although again they did/do have an atmosphere. I never really saw the whole big deal about hating Planetform for that. It'd be identical to them hating planetform for taking a rocky planet like our moon and turning it into a Gaia. It would make no sense.

Gaians are opposed to terraforming because it is unnatural. Simple as that.

From a Gaian POV, if a dead lifeless rock has the potential to support life, then it will do so naturally & in it's own time.

The big deal is, humans will never be smart enough to play god. they will never be able to take into account every single natural action/reaction in platetary evolution & the smallest human error in planning the climate, landmass, ect. creates an accelerated domino effect of failure in the planets DNA itself.

& btw, if we could turn our moon into a Gaia-like planet, it would be an evolutionary disaster for the earth & kill us all off as terraforming the moon would break the earth's food chain in countless ways.

Other things to keep in mind: The only 'side' Gaians are really on is the side of nature. They are not natiionalistic & they don't do things 'for the good of the people' in the stereotypical sense. They are killers with a cause & have a political lobby that actively wins a portion of the Bretonian peoples hearts & minds.
