Seth do you think you could get the BMM shipyard a bit more sandwiched together so that it fits the FL style more? No vanilla bases in FL look like a series of tubes connected together...

Anyways, to respond to the other post:

' Wrote:The Cardiff Field doesn't have Molly NPCs there, and it never has. The only pirates there have been Corsairs who were passing through to the New London Jump Hole. The Hessians are fighting near the Cambridge Hole, yes, but to stop the Corsairs from pirating and collecting resources where the Hessians can't stop them and attempt a strike at Cadiz. If the Hessians could gain a foothold in Cambridge, then they'd have done it already.
But it does have Molly NPCs around the jump hole and about 10k well into the asteroid field. Maybe not the entirety of it, but the easternmost part of it.

Quote:Where are these rumors coming from? Are they vanilla, or are they something new? The Hessians are hard pressed, apparently, so one would think that they'd have trouble moving farther into Omega-3 while fighting both the Corsiars and Wilde, not to mention the fact that there is the BAF as the legitimate power as well. If anywhere, the Mollys should probably build a base near the New London Hole, not in the middle of a Corsair-controlled ice field...
They are indeed vanilla. In vanilla the Corsairs are also on the defensive in Omega-5, as Hessians pull ever closer to Cadiz (since there are a lot more Hessians in the Omegas than there is Corsairs), and Igiss's developments do not seem to really be changing that, except for the few news stating that suddenly Wilde are invading the Omegas en masse and causing problems for both the Hessians and Corsairs.

Read the news item, it even suggests a temporary cease fire, since both sides appear to have it that bad against the Wilde:mellow:
But of course that is unlikely:P

Quote:Why would the Hessians help the Mollys, though? They're fighting the Corsairs, yes, but that wasn't a good enough reason for the Hessians to ally with one of the largest military powers in Sirius (Outcasts), why would they ally themselves with a separatist group in Bretonia who is much weaker just because of that? It doesn't make much sense to me.
Because the Outcasts don't help them directly. The Hessians are still not going to have a lower relation than neutral with Outcasts simply for the reason of the common enemy. The Hessians would in the end help the Mollys because it would benefit them if the Corsair pocket in Omega-49 didn't really expand and gain power. The Hessians hold a large part of Omega-47 in a strong wedge, effectively blocking a straight supply route through it, forcing the Corsairs to "run the blockade" so to say. The Corsairs in Omega-49 are mostly sustained by the Zoners and their planet, and whatever spoils that do manage to get through the Hessian patrols in Omega-47. The Corsairs basing from further east in the Omegas are unable to effectively assault Omega-47, because they run the risk of weakening their Omega-5 defenses as they gather a sufficient force and giving the Hessians an opportunity to change the balance further in their favour if the reinforcements sent to Cadiz stop for even a few days. In the end the whole war is for the grand prize of the Omega-5 crossroads to all the different systems connecting to it.
Basically the Omega warzone is balanced with a slight bias towards the Hessians, that's the tendency that was in vanilla and that's the tendency that the Discovery storyline didn't really touch much except for the successful Hessian takeover of Casablanca. The Hessians are aware of this and obviously wouldn't sit on their hands waiting for the Corsairs to take an opportunity themselves. If the Omega-49 Corsairs managed to defeat the Mollys, they could turn around and start invading Omega-47 hard, thus threatening Hessian operations there. This is why it is ultimately in Hessian interest to keep the Mollys strong and fighting.

That and both groups are composed of former miners, have similar goals in their respective houses and have similar beginnings. They are just sympathetic towards each others plights.

In the end my argument still stands. The Cambridge hole in O-3 is controlled by Hessians. The Leeds hole in Cambridge is controlled by Mollys. If you really can't stomach that base being a bit further away from these two holes then move it closer to the Leeds hole or something. But it has basis to be in that area. A Corsair base in Cambridge doesn't really have a place there aside from the ice field around the Omega-5 jump hole. But why would Corsairs need a base there when they have Cadiz right next to the JH on the other side anyways...
