Colonial Diplomacy

Aight, don't shoot me for this.

As we all know, the CR, through no fault of their own, screw up IMG diplomacy a hell of a lot. The IMG are supposed to be a civilian organisation, perhaps with some militia and defenses that focus on mining, occasionally clashing with Kruger or BMM, and having to defend themselves from Hispanic pirates of both flavours. Occasionally, they seem to get on well with dodgier sorts, such as former miners gone pirate, or bounty hunters. They also have three bases within Bretonia proper, and all IMG bases are within one jump of Bretonian bases or patrols.

However, the CR's diplomacy is very similar to that of the Corsairs, being friendly with them and their buddies.

Now, I have a somewhat radical suggestion to fix this, but with an idea to prevent anyone from having to play differently, except maybe a few IMG.

I would suggest that CR use Corsair tags, equipment et cetera, and use Corsair bases instead of IMG.

Now, as we all know, CR players want to RP as Battlestar folk, in BSG ships.

Therefore, I would suggest that all BSG ships be made Corsair instead of IMG. IMG may then have to use civilian lines again, and would lose their bigger ships, but would have their diplomacy sorted out. CR could keep their ships and current diplomacy, without affecting others.

Does this sound reasonable? Too big of a change to the mod? Am I missing some part of IMG or CR diplomacy?
