Roddy and Rita

[Qunitinius~Verginix]

OOC: START PART 5!!!!! Have fun, cause this was a Blast to write! end OOC:

The Axe of Litany cut through the nebula in the Sigma 17 system. Roddy stood at the command dias in the center of the Bridge, surveying the officers on the mighty ship as they did their tasks. He had been assigned to clamp down on the artifact trade in the Sigma's. For the past three weeks, he had commanded the destruction of many Junker, Hogosha and Corsair ships.

As the Navigation officer watch the long-range Auspex screen, she called out, "My Lord, we have the targets. It appears a corsair Bactrian is loading something aboard a hogoshal Dromdary."

"Stay far enough so their escorts don't pick us up on the scanners."

"Aye, my lord."

"Gunnery officer, have the port Inferno charged and ready to fire. We take out the Drom's sheilds and then ram it. Our prow should go right through and give those bastard corsairs quite a scare when their presious drups and artifacts are smashed!"

"Right my lord, The Port inferno is armed and ready to fire at your command."

"As well, train the lighter guns on those escorts, they may be only Ceturons and Falcons but they can pack a punch in large numbers!"

"Aknowleged my lord."

"Executed your orders now, officers!" Shouted Roddy. The Litany's engines fired up and in short seconds, many of the escorts were nothing mroe the particle clouds adding to the already massive nebula. The great axe-like face of the prow of the Litany, sliced into the starbord side of the hogosha Dromdary. Its two halfs slid along the side of the great Inquisition cruiser before exploding. The lightly armed corsair Bactrian atempted to fly away into cruising speed, but a blast from the Axe of Litany ended the ships small career.

"Tractor in any survivors and or contraband. Those artifacts may contain secrets for dealing with nomads and weapons for the Inquisition Fleet! Destroy it unless it looks somehat useful."

"Yes, Inquisitor." and the salvage officed left the Bridge.

"Job well done officers! Congradulations! Less pirates to pester the prosperous economy is always a good thing!"

"My lord," said the Navigation officer, "We have something on our scanners. It appears to be a wreck."

"What?! A wreck you say? All ahead full! We investigate at once!"

"My lord, if this has something to do with Rita-"

"Of course it does! And now don't say 'my effors are in vain!" Roddy snapped "I vowed I would find her, and Find her I will! Now execute your orders before I have you throwned in the Inquisitions Obuilette!"

"Aknowleged my lord." Said the Navigation Officer, shaking her head. "Our long-range scanners say the wreck is about one hundrend thousand kilometres to the galactice south. If we move at maximun cruiser speed we should get their in fouty five minuites, but we will ahve to reduce sheild and weapon strengh to maintain that speed and their may be risk of engine damage."

"Do it!" He snapped again. and turned towards his private quarters.

Once inside, he sat down behind his desk and took off his sword sheth and placed it on top. He took of his thick red and gold Inquisitor cloak and sat their with his old captains clothes on from when He flew the Jammy Dodger beside Rita.

Sighing, he picked up the picture of him and Rita standing infront of the Jammy Dodger, taken on planet Cran Canaria just after they had left brentonia to see the Galaxy. That picture had been taken oh about 10 years ago now.

"Don't worry Rita, My love, I can't be far off now. four years, since that attack in Delta. I will find you, I know I will!" He place the picture back on the ornatly carved desk. and sat back, in deep thought. He drew his Hecuter 9 Tachyon pistol from his belt, and deflty spun it around on this fore-finger. He thought about by gone days and enjoyed sitting there. Occasionaly, he would shoot at a catoon imaged of a corsair on his wall that He had won at a fair back on New London. A light sheild aborbed the shots and he was suddenly inturpted by a blarring Klaxxon.

He hit the button on His desk. "Executive officer! What the bloody Hell just happened!"

"Nothing my lord!, just a slight malfunction in the engine room!"

Roody switch the comm link to the engine room "You lazy scum! Get it fixed or I'll come down their and shoot the lot of you!"

After everything had settled, Roddy sat back and tried to re-enter the calm blissfull state he'd been in, but found he couldn't. Grudingly, he lay back on the chair and went into a short sleep.

His executive officer summonded him over the comm link. "My lord, we have reached the wreck. I suggest you get out here now."

Roddy sat up, put on his cape and sword, poured himsself a cup of fake coffee and walked back onto the bridge. He looked up and saw something amasing out of the front veiw screen of the Axe of Litany.

"Holy ****......." He said in disbelife. It was a massive space hulk, a very huge chunk of rock that had been fused with many ships over the years that had crashed into it and it had growed so massive it had its own small gravity well. It was 10 kilometres infront of the Inquisition ship and It was about 10 times its size. Roddy could make out countless fighters and frieghters and about thirteen transports and trains and two container transports.

"Commander, hulks like these have been around for many years, they may contain vauable minerals and alien weponry never before seen by anyone in Sirius. we should send on a boarding party."

"I agree XO, I myself shall lead it!"

"Aknowledged my lord"

The airlocked hissed open and any air that was left in the shuttle whiped out wars andinto the dark lifeless corridor of the half a prison liner it had docked with. The rest of the criminal ship was gone, fused with the asteroid of the Hulk.

Roddy stepped forward, sword drawn and light in the other hand. His retinue of Scientists, Xeno-Archaeologists and soldiers followed. He shone the light down the long hallway. They were standing in a small entrace way, one of the ships many but lesser ones. Lets go to the main computer bank, it many contain information vital to us!"

He walked briskly forward, the ships artificial gravity was slighty off so everystep was more like a bound. Roddy was surrpissed it was even funcining still. The small bording party turned a corner that should have lead to a hallway to the data-banks but it was blocked by a large mound of rubble. Roddy shone the light on it and saw to his horror there were bodies impaled of sharp metal rods in the rubble. He should not have be so shocked, because organic matter does not decay in space, but these bodiues appeard almost fresh. Blood semi-floated around them on the floor and their faces were that of Terror.

Two scientists rushed forward to have a look and Roddy turned away, and acivated his communicator. "Navigation! Any scans of life?"

"No my lord, the metal is too think and damaged to get any clear readings."

"Aknowleged. Can you tell us the paath on a standered Prison liner, arother way to reach the Data-banks?"

"Yes my lord. I'm sending you a map to your neural net now. It make take a while, because of the disturbances."

"Thanks for your help anyways."

"Yes my lord." She stopped talking and sent the map.

Soon, the small party had left, they would have to head through the main auditorium, if it wasn't allready blocked. The scientists had made the disturbing diosovery that the bodies were mabey killed two to three days ago.

"I don't like the feeling of this one bit. Yet, in the end, It may turn out extramly usefull to Sirius as a whole. We press on!"

Roddy walked forward and the whole party went with him. They had mabey walked for ten minutes when a soldier at the back said "Hey! Where Corporal Wilson go?" Roddy stopped and did a quick head count. "Well?!
There does seam to be one less of you guys? I though you storm troopers were supposed to be th best!"

"I-I dunno sir! One minute hes here and the next hes gone!" Stammed the unfortunate Trooper.

"Well, be on the look out! There could be something thats knows we are here, yet we do not."

After that, the inter-party comms were abuzz with chatter, all the Inquisition's finest scared and trmbling and talking to each other. Roddy was relived when they finaly reached the door to the Auditorium. It was jammed so they used their fusion cutters to chop their way though the damaged door.

Roddy stepped though into the massive dark space confidentaly. Hes retinue followed a bit more cautiously. He turned back to them "Now! we are almost there but I need you to stay stron-"

he stooped as the felt something land on his shoulder. He looked on his crmoured pad and saw a dark red stain. He turned around slowly and as he did, a thing from his wildest nighmares landed infront of him. Its baclk and dark red chitenous hide was about as tall as a man and in its huge scythe like taons it cluthed the body of what must have been Corporal Wilson but was now a shapless-blood mass of sad human remains. The bug like enties dropped the meaty mass, and took a step towards Roddy.

Without showing fear, roddy Drew his Hecuter 9 and fired. The grew laser took off the monsters head with a satisfying 'splootch' and as the blast continued on wards to the far end on the Audiorium, thousands of eyes glowed green before the shot dissipated into the wall and Chaos reigned.

OOC: Dammit! I hope you all enjoyed reading this as much as I did writing it! The next installment will come very soon because I know this was a cliff hanger.
