The teamwork thing is the burden. You keep a liner at the destination and do the transfer there, having moved them in trains.

Believe you me, people have done far far far weirder and mindbogglingly oorp exploity things to work the trade system.

I agree with a bunch of these suggestions though, stopping people from cramming VIPs into trains, whatever.

To directly counter Lens' one:

A while ago people were talking about things that would 'earn' just for being on your ship, can't remember the details exactly, but you could make it so that if you had VIPs/vacationers/tourists/passengers on a Lux Liner/Royal Liner/Geisha/Yacht/A-Trans, they just created additional money from being on there, representing them buying drinks or going to see the overpriced musician you have on board, or whatever.
