I think that what you just described is the biggest problem in Discovery.

Bump into pieces of debris and junk was fine in the original, since the fields were designed to accomodate small-medium sized ships, not battlestar 2's and spyglasses. I even have trouble flying my prison ship around in fields, even at low speeds with autopilot on.

The fact, is, that it is completely illogical for a ship the size of a battlestar 2 being unable to just plow through junk.

Discovery is a great mod, and I know that this problem was one of the problems in Freelancer to begin with, but I still hope that Igiss can fix it...

hmm, same route, large train - 3 to 4 orgies lost, usually 4 and I usually hit a few rocks... cockpit view+manual flight=best way to fly. too bad you loose quite a bit if you fight that way as your FOV gets narrowed:(

That's why we have cruise disruptors...

The point of cruise is to allow people to run.

If you a serious about increasing speed why don't you just allow players to use afterburners to add to EK cruise speed?

Now, if you activate your burners with EK on, the EK velocity magically disappears, and the burners go on.
