When i first started playing ages ago, just after i made a pirate and gave it a dandy BD gunboat i was blasted without word by a factionised BH battleship.

You sure there was an official bounty hunter faction back then? Even know there's only the BHG|Core- or whatever, and that's recent, until recently, there was only the S&D Agency.

One time a long while ago my hacker sabre got ganged by about 5 enemy fighters/bombers/gunboats , 3 of them beeing from a faction. They didnt disengage nor tell the indies to do so.

Not to mention the countless times i got my RP bashed to a pulp by faction members for its lack of authenticity.

Mind you that this was a long while back. Every since i came back i have yet to encounter a problem with factions. I even finally joined one , and im very happy with it.

It seems to me that all your experiences are from a long time ago. I can't really talk about that as I am too "new" to Discovery.
But I can tell you that today official factions are held up to a lot of checks and critics, and there's simply a lot of people just waiting for someone to make a mistake.
As I said up there somewhere, use the Faction Feedback threads. Explain situations reasonably and problems will be settled. I know for sure they would be in the factions I am a member of, and I'm pretty sure that for 95% others the case would be the same.

That's just my whole point, with all factions you can discuss, criticise constructively, and make things improve. With around 50% of independent players/characters, you simply can't.

I really don't have any kind of solution, but I post to not have only faction bashing around, but I try to make a relatively unbiased opinion, although it probably is a bit biased.
It's just important to create awareness of a problem in all people.
