Yes, with that id agree. But i felt it myself once when i tried making a police character. I bought a GB and was merrilly doing missions against the local pirate factions , RPing with everyone i saw when suddenly a member of the same police faction as me, also in a gunboat. I greeted him and talked to him as a fellow officer and his response was somewhere along the lines of "How the hell did you get that ship" and "We would never let a ship like that fall in your hands". All this because i was an indy.

Seems to me you encountered an idiot.

Luckily, we have a rule against idiots.

When idiocy gets out of hand, and words do not help anymore, you have that.

And the example you just stated just reminds me of the fact that, although people stereotype indies, people also stereotype faction people by their worst examples.
