Mining could use a boost, but I'd love to know where people are making 50mil or more an hour trading. I highly doubt this is the case unless there are some serious OORP violations involved. Otherwise people don't know how to do math and need to break out a stopwatch. ;) By my experience there are very few routes that can hit more than 40mil an hour in a 5k transport. Granted I was gone from Disco for quite some time and the game has changed significantly since I took my hiatus. I may not be privy to all the prime shipping lanes.

If 40mil is the current target max for trading I think GROUP mining should yield slightly more than that. 45-50mil. Solo mining should be lower... maybe 30-35mil. Trading is easy to do AFK and I think dedicated miners/mining groups should be rewarded for their efforts. I have a mining char and a trader. The trader is FAR easier to do for extended periods of time because i F2 and can then RP/chat/alt-tab/etc. Mining requires more concentration and, sadly, results in more eyestrain and a tired mouse hand. :( Aside from this, I enjoy mining MORE, especially when my whole group is out, pirates show up, security flies in... its great RP and I have yet to run into a pirate in a mining field who didn't at least attempt at RP. I PREFER to be active at the keyboard blasting rocks than F2ing and zoning out or reading or whatever other people do while waiting to reach the end of a tradelane or hit a JH.

At Java it took me slightly less than 4min to fill up, unload and start over... that's about 27mil per hour (2750units x $659 / 4min per round x 60min). Java IS somewhat safe... at least when CR are around. When their not, and the Outcasts come to play, its a different story. But if traders are really making 40-50mil+ an hour on most runs, I think a miner should expect no less than 30mil in a place like T23. Significantly more in dangerous areas or when hauling long distances.
