That's not entirely true virus, although i do agree that a 100 mil for 2 people is a more realistic figure.
I still think that mining should yield atleast 30-35 mil per hour.. to bring it at par with the trade routes out there.
I've done a lot of mining, and i've done a lot of trading, and a fair bit of hauling as well. Mining is no-where nearly as easy as trading is.
It gets harder when you want to RP along with it.
If im mining solo, i would have to stop from time to time to type stuff and RP along, which brings the profit even farther down.
Perhaps you could atleast consider making mining a bit more profitable ?
EDIT :: Cannon's post does make sense. I'm going to try and get some numbers together to realistically compare mining and trading. It'll be better than just talking vaguely about what make more money and by how much...
