[IFF] Independence For Freelancers
(was a little unsure what npc faction to start out as, but i saw freelancers needed one so im winging it a bit here to fill a gap, will need feedback)
General Summary: Many are disillusioned with the petty bureaucracy of the ruling houses, but the minor factions seldom offer enough diversity to satify most. the [IFF] seperatists are swallowing up these lost souls with promises of new leadership in the outer worlds, a cohesive vision of independance.
Men and women from all fringe societies are being targeted, Junkers, Zoners, Freelancers, Mercs and even some quasi-legal and blatantly illegal citizens.
The political agenda of the [IFF] is to massage diplomatic relations with those fringe factions that will not overly bristle at a new uninvited neighbor, and to prepare for war against those that would seek to prevent the formation of a new nation.[/color]
Possible directions: ID zoner, freelancer, merc. Location; outside of house space, final location TBA (yes some of these areas are already claimed, but few declarations of independence go without wars)
Potential Allies; All neutral/ independant factions, any 'moral' factions trying to destabilise their own governments (for this example Hogosha would be a good ally, but Xeno would not)
Potential Enemies; All official services (e.g police, navy) of houses that would object to a new nation forming, almost certainly Liberty. Some factions based in the outer worlds (highly dependant on chosen sector of space) for example, the order, corsairs, outcasts.
More general data; in summary, the [IFF] will work covertly in the begining, predominantly under iff's such as freelancer or miner, quietly building up wealth and diplomatic ties. Eventually we will be seen to converge on a sector of space and claim it by might (this is around the time i should consider making the faction official)..this will go on for some time as the plan is to fight for political dominance over 3 or 4 connected systems.
about me; played freelancer since its creation, never too seriously, untill i found discovery. Even then i never put too much time in as i 2 guilds on everquest, first one for a year the 2nd one for 3 years, managing several hundred characters, always managing to keep morale high enough that numbers went up not down like many other new guilds. Been playing EQ for nigh on a decade now, but decided it was time to move on. apart from some light gaming on savage, warzone2100 and a few other (mainly opensource) projects, disco gets all my playing time and i wish to make an impact.
Other staff and data TBA...feedback appreciated!
