This is my report for the proceedings in Rheinland yesterday evening.
Aside from mouthy Daumann pilots and supportive traders in New Berlin who wanted to call us on our positive relationship with the IMG, there were of course our enemies everpouring into Dresden as if it belonged to them. It is unfortunate that I was called back to Dresden before I could prove to the corporate cronie what the truth actually is, however the RNC-Neustadt piloted by the nefarious Vizeadmiral Schprockets was a far greater threat to behold.
As I moved down towards the trade lane to Bautzen to intercept the enemy cruiser, I found it was already engaged with a Coalition ship of similar size, the well known CPW-Genghis.Khan. I immediately brought my Odin about and tried to support the Coalition as much as I could. For a while one could say we were winning, until a military bomber arrived to support their cruiser. I immediately engaged the bomber, trying to keep it from doing much damage, but was largely unsuccessful, while the bomber simply dodged my fire while delivering two torpedoes down the hull of the Genghis Khan. The Coalition cruiser was forced to withdraw, but not before seriously damaging the Neustadt and forcing it to withdraw as well.
I was left alone against a single military bomber, who I have now realised was none other than the infamous Admiral Zirzow, a great supporter and crony of the despicable Chancellor Reinhardt. I pressed the speed advantage of my Odin against him, and slowly weathered him down in a duel knowing that I could not lose. He called in another pilot, one Feldwebel Guntram to help him, but it only delayed his inevitable loss of ship. Although I was forced into the defensive for a short while, two Hessian Tears arrived shortly after to back me up against the Admiral's escort, and I prevailed easily in the end.
Guntram, left alone against the three of us, pleaded for us to let her go and we obliged, knowing that killing her woulndn't make a difference in the long run.
She delivered her admiral's pod to a safe haven so he could tell the tale, and then patrolled Dresden some more, trying to convince us that the Coalition had in fact came to kill us all and is not worthy of our protection. She could not state a single reason however why that would happen, and in the end her arguments didn't hold under the weight of our own. Regardless, I believe we have implanted a seed of doubt into another military pilot, as she swore over system comms never to attack except in self-defense. I myself am thoroughly amused at what the outcome of that will be.
Regardless, our conversation did not last long as the Genghis Khan now patched up a bit better has detected a new threat on the hidden Coalition spy satellites in Neu Berlin. The villain Mon'Star was detected there, and we wasted no time trying to intercept him. He was an elusive one, and led us on a chase across several systems until finally leading us back to Dresden where the inevitable confrontation occured. Myself, commanding the venerable gunboat RHGB-Tiger had caught him and was pummeling him slowly but surely, while avoiding or weathering off his own fire. A supporting LWB bomber used the situation of me being the first target to put in Supernova after Supernova down Mon'Stars shield and then hull. Regardless of this pummelling, the terrorist kept the hulk together, and when the Genghis Khan finally arrived on the scene with its fire support, it was slowly pummelled down by the superior speed and armour of the enemy battlecruiser. Damaged and torn in half, it had successfully managed to massacre Mon'Stars outer hull giving us a few more shots at destroying him. The villain knew our force had the upper hand, and he called in help from an unidentified Falcata bomber mounted with Outcast weapons, who engaged us without pause.
The bomber's ability to keep my gunboat's shield down was what turned the fight in the murderer's favour. I was forced to withdraw soon after to save the Tiger from destruction. I took what escape pods I could of the fallen Genghis Khan and made for Vogtland. Without my support the fight was lost, as the villain's missile turrets finished off every other ally that was attacking him, including Guntram the military pilot and the LWB bomber. One Udo Ackermann managed to escape with their pods in his hold, and delivered them to safety.
The fight was all but lost, when a transmission came from the executive officer of the Genghis Khan that Captain Richtofen died for the cause in the process. This reduced the morale of our fighting forces even further, and we were forced to abandon the battle altogether. The murderer Mon'Star gloated in public, but quickly disappeared long before the Rheinland Military battleship that was dispatched to counter him even arrived from New Berlin. I have promised righteous revenge to the lunatic before he managed to depart into the depths of the southern Omega systems. I am sure the day will come soon, when he will pay for his crimes against the people of Rheinland.
But the bigger question at hand is... do the Outcasts now supply weapons to our enemies? It is entirely possible that they suspect our knowledge of their ties with the vile aliens infesting Sirius. We must stand vigilant over their actions in Rheinland, for who knows what might happen next...
The burial ceremony for Captain Richtofen is scheduled for tommorow. Brigadegeneral Meisnerr requires all RHA squadrons to attend and pay their respects. We have lost a great ally in the battle for freedom, lets hope his replacement can live up to the standard.
