The story of the Nomad Containment Unit:

Shortly after the Nomad war, Liberty officials realized that Nomads were a real threat for Liberty. The Nomads were able exploit the one entry to New York that was not heavily guarded from the inside. This meant the Nomads would be able to organize a force deep in the Alaska system without detection and then capture the most important system for Liberty, New York. The pledge was made to form an elite group of ships that would patrol Alaska and keep an eye on the Nomads. These ships would look no different to others of the same type but would be outfitted to survive in the harsh environment that is the deeper parts of the Alaska system without having to continuously return for repairs and supplies. The Liberty Navy chose to build a variety of ships that could fit this purpose, but only sent out the first few to see if this investment was worth it.

The first group of NCU ships to be sent out was Gunboat 410, Gunboat 413 and Cruiser 903. After a period of success and the destruction of hundreds of Nomads the group was ambushed by the Nomads. Whilst trying to escape Gunboat 410 and Gunboat 413 were destroyed with all 10 crew members on each ship on board. Cruiser 903 returned to Liberty and after extensive upgrades and repairs was allowed to continue the patrols deep in the Alaska system. Cruiser 903 was able to successful survive attacks from the new form of nomads know as 'assassins' which destroyed Gunboat 410, Gunboat 413 and left Cruiser 903 badly damaged. Once it was know that Cruiser 903 could survive without support, scientists were recruited to begin basic research on Nomad brains captured during battle. Using specially designed suits and equipment the scientists were able to conduct basic tests on Nomads in the ship laboratory safely.

Cruiser 903 had returned to Liberty when the order was given for the ship to continue past Alaska and into the Omicron systems. It was decided that a ship of this manner could not risk being found by Rheinlanders. If this were to occur, Rheinland would have substantial evidence of the experiments that the Liberty Navy conducted on Nomads. After Cruiser 903 was ordered to the Omicrons a jump hole was found to a Nomad controlled system know as omicron Lota. Cruiser 903 was heavily damaged whilst exploring the system but was able to collect a large quantity of data. This information was sufficient to authorize other NCU ships to be sent to the Omicrons.

Diplomacy:

The NCU will attempt to be friendly to all human forces, but this would not be possible for the reaction of Liberty being in the Omicrons would vary from pilot to pilot with some welcoming the new ships and others arming their weapons as soon as they were on radar.

Attempted allies: Any Human force.
Required allies: Corsairs, Order, BHG and Zoners
Enemies: Anything Nomad related

--The NCU will try to be friendly with all other human factions in the Omicrons but some factions are valued more than others. Currently: Order>Corsairs>BHG where the Order is most important.
--The NCU not interfere in the Order, Corsair-Bounty Hunter Guild war unless the safety of NCU or critical Order/Corsair ships is jeopardized.
--In case of a LSF-Order conflict in the Alaska system, the NCU will remain neutral unless ordered to attack Order units.
--In case of a Corsair-Outcast conflict that takes part in any of the systems in the NCU ZOI (Kappa and Delta), the NCU will remain neutral.
--In case of a full scale war between Human forces (whoever they might be) and Nomads or The Wild, the NCU will aid the human forces.
--The NCU will aid any human forces battling the Nomads/The Wild, if requested.
--The NCU will not interfere with smuggling of any kind.
--The NCU will defend itself if attacked by human forces.
--In case of a heavy attack on Liberty Systems, the NCU will return and aid Liberty Defenders if required.

Main Objectives:

--Protecting Liberty by acting as an outpost that observes/destroys Nomad forces and Nomad technology.
--Protecting humans from Nomads and the mapping of Nomad systems (Lota etc.)

Secondary/secret objective:
--Observing Order/Corsair forces and capturing of Nomad/Order/Corsair technologies

Zone of Influence:

--Omicron Delta.
--Omicron Kappa.
--Alaska (Only if Human Forces request help there or if NCU is returning to Liberty Space).
--NCU will help Order or Corsair forces in they're systems (Omicron Minor, Omicron Gamma) if requested to do so.
--Due to the NCU being a secret branch of the liberty navy the NCU will take the role as standard Liberty ships and will then fall into the appropriate ranking in Liberty space

The NCU will be recognized by Liberty Navy /Guard Tag, the |NCU| tag before the name, and ID.(not yet decided)
--The "911" and the "903" are the ships production names. Cruisers start with a 9xx, Gunboats start with a 4xx, fighters start with a xx and bombers start with a 6xx.

Allowed Ships:

Due to its RP, the NCU will be few in numbers (max 7), and will only use Liberty Ships. The largest ship used will be the liberty siege cruiser (max 2) followed by gunboats (max 2) and lastly fighters and bombers (max combination of 3)

Dockable stations/planets:

The NCU will continuously move from station/planet to station/planet between Omicron Delta and Omicron Kappa and will only dock within the Order/Corsairs systems when ordered or when permission is given.
