Kal strolled up to the bar , grinned his thanks to the barkeep for the frosted beer waiting on the bar top , and turned around to survey the room .

He'd been gone awhile , there were a couple new faces scattered here and there in the boisterous crowd of off duty warriors . He nodded to himself , they all looked like they could handle themselves . The coming months will tell how well , he reflected wryly .

With wars breaking out all over the Sector , House wars as well as corporate , the militaries and Police had their hands full ... Busy times ahead for us , no doubt about it . Turning back to the barkeep , he signalled for a couple more beers ,"Put 'em on my tab , Lofty".

Weaving his way to the corner table he favoured , he started slightly when his perscom beeped . Checking the display "Meeting in the board room in 20 , non attendance is not an option .Blane. ".

He sighed , hastily downed his opened frosty , dumped the other three unopened bottles on the neighbouring table with a rueful "Enjoy , my children" to the surprised and gratified warriors sitting there , and pushed his way to the exit .

Wonder what Diana has up her lovely sleeve now .... no doubt trouble for someone .... He laughed , "Poor bastards !" Whistling cheerfully , he headed for the board room .
