Have you tried Kusari roleplay yet? Once you learn the lingo (Konnichiwa, Domo Arigato etc) and talk to a few people you will learn just how deep and involved it is.

First, you have the traditionalist Kusari government, with the head being Emperor Jien Kogen (Kusari.Imperial.Yacht). He has the the Kusari State Police (KSP) enforcing the Kusari Legal Codex and the Kusari Naval Forces (KNF) at his disposal to fight his war on the Bretonia Front. Sometimes, the Bretonia Privateers (QCP) bring the war to Kusari, and the KNF emergency comms go wild as the KNF rises to sqash the pirate incursions. Sometimes they enlist the help of the Anti-gaijin (foreigners), the Hogosha ( official faction is [|] the Black Dragon Society). Then there's the Farmer's Alliance (AFA), whose main goal is the preservation of traditional farming methods and the purging of the synth foods market in Kusari. All of the above are mortal enemies of the Blood Dragons (NovaPG, Sentai) who wish to overturn the Emperor and restore the Shogunate.

There are two large Kusari corporations, Samura (Samura|) and Kishiro (Kishiro|). Samura's got a stranglehold on the Kusari government by buying their politicians. Kishiro has an edge in technology and much influence in Honshu. Kishiro works closely with the fiercely independent Gas Miners Guild (GMG|), and has exclusive rights to transporting their HFuel as well as building their miners and ships. The GMG are decedents of Honshu fishermen with strong culture, economic, and security ties to Kusari. Samura tries to impede the GMG/Kishiro development of Okinawa (the loan to develop provided by none other than Interspace) by having the Hogosha sabotage the miners, terraforming, and Jumpgate projects, and GMG tries to impede Samura development of Hokkaido (eliminate the competition!) by secretly training the Blood Dragons in nebula combat so they can run in circles around the KNF and Samura in Hokkaido. The best part is, there's nothing but smiles and gestures of respect on the surface.

Oh and who could forget the Golden Chrysanthemums (GC, Kiretsu), who have a secret agreement with Interspace Commerce, and just love cardamine and other GC girls >_>

And the Consortium. Well, them! ... You'll have to see them to understand.

And Renzu, the ship designers. Beware their salesmen, they might just try to sell you a WASAPUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.

Recently, there have been unprecedented tensions in Roleplay (not just diplomatic) between the GMG and Kusari over Okinawa - and a few of us are working on drafting a treaty to sort that out.
