SHFs.
- Too big and inagile to not catch a SNAC from a competent bomber pilot, not enough offensive capacity to really stand a chance against anything bigger than a transport. Granted, SHFs are extremely good at killing transports. I hate them because the Junker "Bomber" is a SHF, and as a result I'm obligated to find something useful about it besides the whole transport-smashing bit. It's annoying when you get jumped by a gunship, and the realization hits that your "bomber" is being both outmaneuvered and outmuscled by a ship with shields more than 5 times as good as yours.
Freighters.
- Solid support ship, good offensive capacity mixed with respectable cargo. Despite this, what's the point? I've been an advocate of buffing freighters since 4.84 and while I love the changes the new version has brought, it's still not quite there.
There needs to be a bona fide unique feature for both these ship classes. Right now they're both just sort of caught in limbo. It's no small coincidence that they're both roughly the same size, same maneuverability, same shields and have the same two or three lunatics that insist on flying them out of sheer bloodymindedness.
