I was.....misled, to say the least.

I rechecked the dates from the library AND the orphanage. Turns out those 2 goons were the only ones here. I think.

I was indeed of unknown origin, and no I didn't have an aunt. Some of the old professors welcomed me back.

I rechecked the library's computer, and found that the symbol I tore off the dead inspector at the station was one of the underground rings were not registered in the Kusari government. In fact, they didn't seem to register at all. I took a picture of it with the neural net. I don't even see why I need the thing, but who knows? I could trade it in for something fancy.

And my portable AI found something interesting. Apparently one of the professors down in R and D took up my study in a human genome project had underwent while I was being imprisoned at who-knows-where. If found it because someone noted my research, but it didn't label any discoveries. Nor do I think there is anything that I can learn from it that I didn't already know.
The only thing on the report, was the nature of the experiment, and the name of the intended person. Kyle Stark. Doesn't ring a bell.

Genomes however,.......that rings a bell. The erm.......'benefactors' that held me in Shikoku had asked me to um, 'look into' that area. I smiled lightly. It was just like them to undergo the research in gene manipulation, what, now that they realize that they actually have the technology to do so. I might make that a little side project later, now that I have my freedom. To find out what everyone else is planning.

I must return. I don't know how many of the thugs are here, but one person in the corner is watching me strangely.
