Target: Cambridge

People in a huge crowd gather 'round a podium, where a short, lanky man stepped up. The Crowd was making more noise than a thousand pre-schoolers at a theme park.

"People, people...CALM DOWN. It was the OTHER side of Cambridge that got hit. NOT this SIDE," said the man into the tiny vocal amplifier.

The crowded breathed a sigh of relief.

One woman raised her hand. "Sir, how much damage was done?"

"I don't know."

"Do we have a head-count on the number killed or wounded?" asked another person.

"What?! Jesus...That was the SAME question she just asked!" screamed the man, jumping up and down on the podium, "What is this?? A press conference?"

"Did anyone get hurt," asked another, and the crowd turned to face him, "Errr...I mean...like...here."

"ARGHHHGHH!!" cried the man at the podium, "IF THE BOMB HIT HERE...YOU...WOULD BE DEAD."

The crowd panicked. Throwing his arms down, the man stepped down. "People are like a bunch of animals," he muttered.

A Bretonian police officer walked over the the man. "Thank you so much Mr. Schroder, that...really..helped," he stuttered, "I would have totally broken down up there, mate..."

"Now, Mr. Heather..." Schroder looked aside, "YOUR part of the bargain..."

The Police officer hesitated, and lead Schroder through the throng of people, and into a huge complex.

"She's inside protective radiation shielding," said the officer, "Sir.."

Schroder silenced the man with a wave of his palm. The Officer drifted off. Schroder looked at the charred body of the girl within the shielding.

"So you are the one who caused all this damage..." he murmured, a smile spreading across his face.

"Do you know who you are?"

"What is MY name?"

"NO."

"NO. Bad."

"NO."

"MY name."

"Jesus..."

Schroder strode out of the hallway, and seeing the police officer, Heather, grabbed him by the shoulder. Heather wheeled around with suprise.

"Herr Schroder!" said Heather quickly.

"Mr. Heather..." frowned Schroder, "You told me, she was CONCIOUS."

"Well sir," muttered the officer.

"MR. HEATHER...I'm sure that the BPA will not enjoy reports of You ODing on Pharma before making speeches!"

"Aye, aye, sir."

Heather strode off, and went for a Medic.

Schroder crossed his arms, and angrily walked away. Fools, he thought. This had been the PERFECT opportunity to show all of Sirius that he was the FOREMOST Criminal defense lawyer. And these imbeciles were opening up the undiscovered frontier to others, when he had claimed her first.

He would prove her innocent, and have her release. It would shock Sirius forever...but he thought about the money, and the prestige.

It didn't hurt to play Devil's advocate once in a while...
