I concur with most of what's been said. However, I don't agree that this is anything new. When I arrived on the server I had a problem with 1 particular admin who I percieved to be utterly corrupt and biassed towards factions he was involved in. I wasn't afraid to PM other admins of my concerns. This individual is no longer an admin for whatever reason.
I have NEVER been sanctioned for rule breaking, because I was lucky enough to do my "learning" as RP laws came into force. I originally arrived when it wasn't an issue for a Corsair to fly a Ravens Talon, where Blood Dragons would also fly Ravens Talons and regularly invade Gamma for the PVP. I'm happy that those days are over, but I realise that I have learned how to get by on Discovery server because I've been here since the rules on RP began evolving.
It seems that trying to learn to get by on this server is now illegal. To learn, one must make mistakes. It's a sad state of affairs that it seems like 9/10 of new players are labelled as rulebreaking idiots, sanctioned and ultimately leave the server. That's part of the reason why faction membership percentages are so low; new players aren't here long enough to join factions. They get driven away by unfriendly attitude and mind-boggling rules before they have the chance.
My biggest issue is the suppression of discussion. I was appalled to hear that Tenacity's RP threads such as character biographies had been deleted. This is the game-community equivalent of burning books, and completely abhorrent.
I wholeheartedly expect this topic to be locked before it reaches it's 4th page. That's how discovery forums work.
