Pilot carrying this ID is a freelancer who chose not to join any factions, but rather work for himself or herself. Freelancer ID grants its owner right to participate in all kinds of lawful and unlawful activities, fulfil bounty contracts and trade.
Allowed ships: Fighters, Freighters, Transports, Gunboats, Cruisers, Battleships
Carrying unmounted IDs in your ship, as well as not equipping an ID, is a serious crime.

Neutral ID
Pilot carrying this ID has declared himself or herself lawful and neutral towards all factions. Neutral ID grants its owner right to trade, escort traders, hunt pirates and terrorists, fulfil bounty contracts. Neutral ID owner cannot participate in any unlawful actions or military operations.
Allowed ships: Fighters, Freighters, Transports, Gunboats, Cruisers, Battleships
Carrying unmounted IDs in your ship, as well as not equipping an ID, is a serious crime.

Neutral ID is sold only in House space. Read the infocards people, that's why they're there.

Basically, the Neutral one means you're neutral but lawful. Freelancer ID grants you freedom to be neutral and chaotic.

Btw, while we're on the topic. If you choose any of the two, specially Neutral ID, don't use the 'I'm a Freelancer/Neutral, why did you shot me?'. It makes perfect sense to get shot as a lawful character (Neutral ID) by an unlawful. Also, if you have a Freelancer ID you will most certainly have a tag and in regard to that tag... you might get shot, it shows for whom you were working way too much. At least that's how I see it.
