It does specifically state that they are not freedom fighters, and their exile is self-imposed. If the Ronin felt the urge for greater freedoms in a cultural sense - it would have caused an internal conflict leading to their departure.

Remember they CALL themselves Ronin, it doesnt mean they ARE in the historical sense of the word. Even using the term might of itself cause RP friction with the KNF.

Historically, attitudes towards the Ronin differed throughout the ages.
