"Against" pirates, a zoner can use diplomacy or social engineering, and the most powerfull "gun" in all Sirius, the money.

i think these ship need guns for seldefense against the NPCs.

He's serious. Pay the pirates and usually you can live. Resist in anyway without being sneaky and you will pay, in one form or another.

Other than that hire escorts for crying out loud.
